SUBJECT: Class of 2027 Updates

Hopewell Valley Central High School Class of 2027

Dear Parents, Family, and Friends of the Class of 2027,

We hope you and your children are having a great school year so far! We are the parent representatives for the Class of 2027. Our mission is to build community among the parents, students, and faculty while simultaneously fundraising for the Class of 2027 special events.

We hope that your children enjoyed the Spring Semi-Formal Dance on Friday. We had a great turnout, and we thank everyone who helped with decorating or who donated items to make the night a success. We also want to thank the student representatives and teacher advisors who worked hard to put the dance on; it was truly a group effort. We had a few volunteers taking pictures on Friday and we have asked them to upload the photos to a google drive so that parents can view them. Please click here for the photos. If you took any photos before the dance and would like to upload them, you can do that as well. This will be a nice memory to look back on during senior year.

We are writing to let you know about some of the events you can expect in the coming years, including our social fundraisers like the posh Handbag Bingo, the newly added and fast favorite spring themed HV5K, Parent Night Out Mixers, Family Restaurant Nights, and other fun events for the kids to enjoy.

Here are a few of the long-range special events in junior and senior year (such as Junior Prom, Senior Events and Post Prom) and how you can assist in the fundraising effort to support these events.

Junior Prom is supported by parent funds and parent volunteers. Parent funds offset expenses for prom decor, food and beverages, and parent volunteers help with the event decorating, set up and clean up.

Senior Events are supported by parent funds and volunteers. There is no cost to attend any Senior Events run by parents. Each class puts their own signature on senior events but in the past, these have included events such as: Post Prom, Senior Sunrise, Senior Sunset/Movie Night, Senior Lunch, Senior Breakfast the morning of graduation, and Elementary School Clap Outs.

Post Prom is held at CHS following the Senior Prom. For over 30 years, senior class parent volunteers, in coordination with HVCHS PTO, school administration and Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance, have organized this activity-filled event to provide an alcohol and drug free alternative for students following prom. It is a memorable night, well attended by students and their guests, whether they attend prom or not. This event was developed with student safety in mind and the students enjoy having time with friends before they graduate from HVCHS.  The CHS PTO website has additional details about Post Prom.  You can watch a video, review photos and read the FAQ's.

Traditionally, each class asks families who are able to contribute a one-time donation to support the cost of these class specific events. Payment can be made using this LINK

Suggested donation of $125, but any amount is appreciated. Donations may also be made by check to HVCHS PTO (Class of 2027 in memo).* The HVCHS PTO is a non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible and matching employer donations are welcomed. Please know donations are not mandatory to attend events and names of families who donate are kept anonymous.

If you are interested in helping to plan and/or execute events, please let us know by filling out this FORM.

Together, let’s make the class of 2027’s four years at CHS an unforgettable experience!

Kind regards,

Christine Ruhl, Jennifer DiDonato, Aileen Matticoli,
