News
A Treat for CHS Staff!

The PTO Staff Appreciation/Hospitality Committee provided a winter treat to CHS staff on December 20th. Thanks for your ongoing support which makes these events possible.

CHS PTO Mini Grant

In December, the CHS PTO approved a mini grant to support the purchase of large white boards to support learning in Ms. Ribecca's science classes. Ms. Ribecca explained that the use of white boards is well researched and makes student thinking visible to her in real time, which allows for immediate correction of misunderstandings. Ms. Ribecca provided several photos so you can see the whiteboards in use. Your donations to the CHS PTO Annual Appeal facilitate the mini grant program for CHS staff. If you would like to donate to the Annual Appeal, please CLICK HERE and use the gold "Donate" button.

Student Volunteers are Welcome and Appreciated!

The CHS PTO has received several upcoming volunteer opportunities for CHS students. Please encourage your student(s) to review this list and click on the preferred links to sign up. Thanks for your help!

New ongoing opportunity: Club DREAMS is a meeting space dedicated to the socialization, academic support, job skill/career training and enrichment for kids, teens and young adults with Down Syndrome.

Please visit the PTO website regularly to find current student volunteer opportunities.

Please email Meg O'Connor & Sue Dayner with any questions or to provide student volunteer opportunities.

The CHS PTO is Seeking a Secretary (Attention 2026 & 2027 Parents)

If you are interested in supporting the CHS PTO, we are in need of a secretary. This executive board position requires attendance at monthly meetings which are scheduled at 9am on the third Wednesday of each month from September to May, in person at CHS. We do not meet in December.

The secretary takes notes during the meeting, offers them for approval at the following meeting and stores the approved minutes on the CHS PTO Google drive. In addition to the monthly meetings, there are occasional executive board responsibilities which include attention to email matters or a board meeting (often held on zoom).

The ideal candidate will be able to step into the position in January 2024 and complete this school year with the intention of remaining through 2024-2025.  If you have availability, but can only commit to the remainder of this school year, please let us know.  Please email Kerry Nulman & Becky Golian to express your interest. Thanks for considering this important position.
