Designer Handbag Bingo

We need your help with the upcoming Designer Handbag Bingo. The committee is seeking donations and sponsors. We are actively seeking small donations that can be used to create the Tricky Tray baskets. If you are interested in contributing please email us HERE. You can also check out our Bingo Website

Tickets for bingo will be on sale soon. Save the date, December 1st at 6:00pm, to support the Class of 2025 with a fun night of bingo, tricky trays and a silent auction featuring fantastic prizes such as Giants/Eagles Tickets, Tory Burch tote, Yeti essentials and more. Everyone is welcome!

Spring 5K

Our class is also planning the Spring 5K race for March 2024. Stay tuned for details on the date and this year's theme. We would love your help planning the event. Please email us HERE to help out! 

Class of 2025 SWAG Shop is Open!

The Class of 2025 SWAG Shop - your spot for some new Hopewell gear - is OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND! All orders can be placed through the website and you can ship to home or choose warehouse pick up in Cranbury, NJ. The SHIP TO SCHOOL option will resume in September.

Many new items have been added! All items are available with three design choices: The general Hopewell design is available on ALL items. You name it, we have it!

We had a great evening socializing at the 2026 Parents Night Out at Princeton Wine Company on 9/28, and many thanks to those who attended our Class of 2026 Kickoff Meeting for parents/guardians on October 3rd. 

For those who were not able to join us, please take a moment to view the presentation that was shared and learn how you can support the fundraising activities and create memorable events for the Class of 2026.

Hopewell Township Clean Communities Day: October 14th

Meet at the Township Public Works building at 9am. Help your community and earn money for the Class of 2026! Registration is not required but please let us know you are coming by completing this RSVP

If you show up on your own, be sure to let the organizers know that you are with the HVCHS Class of 2026. We will receive protective gear, the tools needed, and an assigned area. Remember to bring water, snacks, and sunscreen! For more information, email Melissa.

Parent Night Out was a Success- Thank you!

We would like to express our gratitude to all who joined our inaugural "Parents Night Out" at Hopewell Valley Vineyard. It was a delightful evening filled with connections, both old and new. This event served as a fantastic introduction to the parents of our Class of 2027.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a bottle, which contributed to our 10% incentive. 

To those who couldn't make it, we certainly felt your absence and look forward to welcoming you at future gatherings planned throughout this school year!

Pink Out Football Game: October 13th

The annual Pink Out football game is THIS FRIDAY 10.13.2023 at 7PM versus Hightstown.  Tickets are available HERE. Remember to wear your PINK when you come to support our football team, cheerleading squad and the Marching Black & Gold. 

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training: Register by October 15th

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a training program intended for any adult who interacts with youth. It teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.

If you are a parent of children or a community member that interacts with young people ages 12-18 and are interested in attending this one-day training, please complete this form by October 15. (See form for dates of training.)

We are pleased to offer this training to parents, staff and community members thanks to a grant from the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance.

Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance Resources

The Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance is a local organization that supports and administers programs and activities in Hopewell Valley that promote positive youth development and build community.  Please visit the HVMA website for more details.

Volunteer Opportunities for CHS Students

The PTO has organized links to many local volunteer opportunities in our community. This is a service to our CHS families and aligns with Ms. Riley's service learning initiative. PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK WITH YOUR STUDENTS so they can sign up for preferred volunteer activities. 

Many of these opportunities are happening VERY SOON. Bear Tavern's Let Me Run team is seeking volunteers and the BT PTO also needs help with the Octoberfest event. Stony Brook is having a Color Run and would love some CHS volunteers. 

Community events that offer volunteer roles for CHS students include:

  • The Amazing Pumpkin Carve
  • Trails 4 Tails
  • the *rescheduled* Hopewell Harvest Fair 
  • Trail Stewards Work Day at Washington Crossing Park  
  • Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry (ongoing)

Governor's Educator of the Year Nominations!

Each year, HVRSD participates in the Governor's Educator of the Year program. The intent of this program is to recognize the hard work of outstanding teachers and educational services professionals. 

Each Principal will be establishing a building committee to review nominations and make a selection for their building before Thanksgiving Break. We have wonderful teachers and educational services professionals in our schools and now is the time to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to our students, parents, caregivers, and community!

If you are familiar with Google Forms, feel free to click on the link below. You will be prompted to make a copy. Simply complete the form, save it, and then “share” with or email the link. Educator nominations should be shared with your building Principal, and Support Staff nominations should be shared with Tana Smith.

Winter Athletics Registration due by October 27th

Winter Athletic Sports Registration has started. Registration and medical forms for all winter sports are due by Friday, October 27th. Please click here to access the registration page and print medical forms.

Students without a physical form or health history update on file will not be able to try out or practice.

In-House Physicals will be offered on Friday, October 27th from 9am to noon in CHS nurse's office. Physicals are $25 per child and open to any grade 9-12 student by appointment only. (Please bring cash or checks made out to HVRSD). Appointments can be made through this LINK.

CHS Winter Sports Start Dates:

  • Ice Hockey, Boys & Girls Swimming - November 6, 2023
  • Boys & Girls Basketball & Wrestling - November 20, 2023

Mini Grant to Support CHS Student Book Club

As a result of your generosity, the CHS PTO approved a mini grant to support the CHS student book club. This is an extracurricular club open to all CHS students and Ms. Dykty is the staff advisor.  Student members have the opportunity to suggest titles for the group and there are meetings for discussion about each selection.

CHS Culture Connections: Presenters Needed!

Bonjour! Hola! Aloha! Namaste! HVCHS Culture Connections is a student organization that prioritizes and embraces cultural diversity, individuality, and identity. Our mission is to promote cultural competency among CHS students and staff by inviting cultural representatives throughout our larger community to speak about their particular culture. Our goal is to work towards making this world a culturally competent Global Village through our message of "Oneness." 

We are looking for presenters from the community who would be willing to schedule a time to present their culture and all of its unique customs and traditions during our lunch period here at CHS. Please fill out this form if you are interested in presenting to our students.

CHS Girls Soccer: QCrew Fundraiser October 12th

Thanks to HV Girls Soccer, the QCrew is returning to CHS on October 12th.  There are two convenient pick-up times -- one directly after school (3-4pm) and another post activities/practice/games (5:30-6:30pm). Order ahead HERE and let QCrew take care of the rest!

CHS Girls Soccer: Wildflowers Fundraiser October 19th from 11am to 9.30pm!

HV Arts Council’s 9th Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve: October 11th to 15th

The Hopewell Valley Arts Council’s Amazing Pumpkin Carve is back this year, bigger and better than ever, as an old-time festival with expanded activities and, of course, outrageously carved giant pumpkins. 

Visitors of all ages will delight in wandering through an illuminated walk of creative Halloween fun from Wednesday, October 11 to Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Woolsey Park, Titusville, NJ.
